Position Summary: The primary purpose of this position is to supervise the daily nursing activities of the facility during the tour of duty. The supervision is done in accordance with federal, state and local rules and regulations to insure that the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Works with administration to provide a safe and comfortable environment over and beyond regulations.
Will act as designated ranking building authority unless Director of Nursing or Assistant Director of Nursing is in facility.
Works with Administration, and the Director of Nursing in coordinating and maintaining policies for implementation of good resident care.
The Building Supervisor will carry out the duties throughout the building as needed.
The Building Supervisor will act as resource person for exercising professional clinical judgment.
Will follow the guidelines of the "Shift Supervisors Responsibilities and Reaction Guide."
Maintain the confidentiality of all resident care information.
Manages and oversees nursing staff to provide and ensure all aspect of resident care according to nursing standards.
Ensure that allnursingcareisprovidedinprivacyandthat nursing service personnel knock before entering the resident's room.
Obtain medication and IV solutions from night stock as needed.
Monitor daily assignment sheet to assure all staff are in, make adjustments/calls as needed.
Manages resident/staff concerns as appropriate and reports to Administration.
Qualifications:
Education: Registered Nurse
Experience: One to Two years' experience in a Supervisory position managing direct reports.
Licensure: Current license in the State of Michigan as Registered Nurse.
Skills: Nursing skills as defined in the laws governing the practice of nursing in Michigan. Excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation, organizational, analytical and time management skills. Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and accurately in English.
