McLain Medical Associates is Hiring a Prior Authorization Specialist Near Birmingham, AL

Certified Medical Assistant and Prior Authorization specialist
Full time Experienced Certified Medical Assistant (required) with strong clinical and people skills needed for busy physician's office. The ideal candidate must be highly professional, motivated, personable and friendly. Position involves routine patient care, which includes but not limited to obtaining vital signs, entering patient information into the EHR, assist provider in the examination and treatment of patients. This position will also do prior authorizations for patient medications and infusions.

Job Requirements:

Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program

Experience with Electronic Medical Records

Hard working, team player

Phlebotomy experience required

Demonstrate problem solving skills

Job Responsibilities:

Greet and escort patients to the appropriate room. Obtain vital signs, review medical history and document chief complaint into the EMR.

Assist physicians in the clinic with exams, procedures and related clinical tasks such as injections.

Monitor and stock all exam rooms and the lab.

Assist with scheduling of patient's test and referrals.

Complete daily lab tasks .

Working knowledge of sanitation, personal hygiene and basic health and safety precautions applicable for work in a clinic setting.

Filling forms out for specialty pharmacy to obtain prior authorizations for medications and infusions.

Scheduling of in office infusions.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $12.00 - $14.00 per hour
