The Opportunity with McKinstry

We are currently seeking a Senior Technical Support Administrator to join our Technology division. In this role you will develop and provide support for all Design specific software and hardware.Additionally, some additional responsibilities you will have include:

Technical Support

  • Develops and maintains systems for software and hardware deployment and processes for BIM, CADD and Revit.
  • Responds to tier 2 tickets efficiently and keeps technology helpdesk and management updated on the problem resolution. 
  • Provides support and assistance to McKinstry employees. 
  • Support of over 100 enterprise and client applications
  • Troubleshoot general network connections 
  • Responsible for BIM/CADD standard development and application. 
  • Creates and maintains software templates, families, block libraries etc. for quality control and consistency. 
  • Provides hardware, network and software support as it related to BIM/CADD. 
  • Supports BIM/CADD technology needs to remote offices. 

Software Development

  • Handles all VDC software installations and all setup/configuration of CAD/BIM environment.
  • Generates and maintains software deployments throughout department and company.
  • Generates and maintains reference material for end-user advanced software applications.
  • Provides technical support for all CAD/BIM software and hardware (including peripherals).
  • Develops and promotes practices to improve production efficiency and effectiveness via customization of all CAD software platforms.
  • Evaluates, tests, and recommends software purchases and upgrades, and hardware configurations.
  • Provides technical support for all CAD/BIM software and hardware.
  • Configures new equipment and software setup/roll out prior to use /implementation.

Collaboration

  • Creates upgrades and deployment strategies in conjunction/collaboration with Estimating, Engineering and Detailing. 
  • Acts as departmental liaison for BIM/CADD processes for Technology. 
  • Develops and documents processes for other Technicians to follow.
  • Responsible for researching new technology for the company.

Administrative

  • Organizes the CAD environment and maintains all related documentation.
  • Develops, implements, maintains and documents standards and content libraries.
  • Coordinates and develops relationships with all CAD software/hardware vendors.
  • Maintains database/log of user and group hardware/software for asset tracking.
  • Recommends new software/hardware standards.

Communication

  • Consults frequently with Engineering, CAD/BIM and Detailing staff to asses current technical support priorities and needs.

What You Need to Succeed at McKinstry

  • 2-year degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • Ability to create and/or modify CUI, LISP, C#, VB.net, scripts, and macros required.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and Windows desktop operating systems required.
  • Expertise in all of the latest Autodesk products required; office and field required.
  • Five (5) years of experience supporting Autodesk products preferred.

The pay range for this position is $58,410 - $105,900 per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A bonus may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. Base pay information is based on market location.
