SENIOR MANAGER, COMPLIANCE & ETHICS, MMS SALES AND MARKETING

THE ROLE:

The Senior Manager, Compliance and Ethics ("Senior Manager") will support the enhancement and maintenance of the compliance program for sales and marketing functions within McKesson Medical-Surgical ("MMS"). The Senior Manager will report to the Vice President, Compliance and Ethics, MMS Sales and Marketing. The Senior Manager will support continuous improvement in the compliance program and the promotion of a culture of compliance and ethics at MMS. The Senior Manager will also provide compliance support and guidance to MMS strategic growth priorities.

The ideal candidate will have experience with healthcare compliance and ethics programs, including knowledge of the elements of an effective compliance program. The candidate will have familiarity with the laws, rules and regulations governing the activities of pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers and distributors, healthcare providers and other market participants. The candidate will have demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate with large teams consisting of business, legal, compliance, audit, and human resources within a highly matrixed environment.

This position will be located in Richmond, Virginia or Jacksonville, Florida.

KEY RESPONSIBLITIES:

  • Support the enhancement, continuous improvement, and maintenance of an effective compliance program focused on key risk areas in MMS' sales and marketing functions.

  • Create or enhance compliance policies and procedures, provide review and guidance on business procedures and controls, and create training for relevant compliance risk areas.

  • Support the development of corrective and preventive actions to address the root cause of potential compliance issues.

  • Conduct compliance risk assessments and landscaping activities and develop work plans to mitigate potential compliance risks. Ensure that risk assessments and work plans are responsive to changes to the external regulatory environment and/or business strategies.

  • Conduct monitoring and testing activities to ensure that the compliance program, procedures, and controls are operating effectively.

  • Provide solutions-oriented compliance guidance related to daily operational activities as well as new/emerging offerings and growth strategies.

  • Promote a strong culture of compliance and regulatory excellence throughout the organization.

  • Establish effective partnerships across the business and enabling functions, such as Internal Audit, Human Resources, IT, Employee Relations, Legal, Quality, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of eight (8) years of relevant work experience in building, enhancing, and maintaining compliance programs, preferably in healthcare.

  • Demonstrated knowledge and hands-on experience with the foundational elements of effective compliance programs, such as developing policies/procedures, creating and delivering training, conducting risk assessments, and conducting monitoring activities.

  • Familiarity with the rules, regulations and relevant industry guidelines governing the medical device and pharmaceutical industry, healthcare providers and other market participants.

  • Knowledge of compliance risks and considerations related to healthcare sales and marketing activities, including interactions with healthcare professionals and customers and promotional activities.

  • Experience executing and continuously improving compliance programs related to sales and marketing activities, such as field sales compliance programs and creating and delivering effective and tailored training to sales and marketing teams.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex concepts to all organizational levels, including senior management.

  • Flexibility to adjust to changing priorities and comfort navigating ambiguity.

  • Strong critical thinking, analytical, and creative problem-solving skills, with the ability to "issue spot" compliance risks in complex and changing environments and develop actionable plans.

  • Ability to anticipate and navigate change and direct or redirect efforts.

  • Self-starter with ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate with cross-functional teams across the organization.

  • Track record implementing pragmatic and innovative solutions.

  • Ability to drive and implement key strategies.

  • Ability to work under pressure and established deadlines.

  • Knowledge of medical device, supplies, and healthcare distribution risks is a plus.

  • Six Sigma or Lean certified

  • Experience performing data analytics.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor's degree (preferred) and 8 years of relevant work experience; of which, 5 preferably in health care.

As part of Total Rewards, we are proud to offer a competitive compensation package at McKesson. This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. In addition to base pay, other compensation, such as an annual bonus or long-term incentive opportunities may be offered.

Our Base Pay Range for this position$92,300 - $153,800
