Maintenance (Facility) Technician - Automated Warehouse (Medical / Surgical supplies)

Location : Kent, WA, USA - 6520 South 228th St. Note : The warehouse is currently located in Auburn, WA. Candidates selected may need to be required to work in both buildings for a short time until the full transition is complete to the brand new facility in Kent.

Both locations are within 5-6 miles of one another. New building slated to begin operations in late April / early May.

Shift : 5am-1 : 30pm, Monday to Friday OR 1 : 30pm-9pm, Monday to Friday. Note : shift subject to change. OT mandatory if required.

Shift subject to change based on needs of the business. Emergencies in the building may cause slight shift changes or overtime.

Full-time / permanent. Benefit eligible. Bonus eligible.

Compensation range - $30-32 / hr.

Job Summary :

Our Seattle (Kent) Distribution Center is seeking 4 dynamic and motivated Facility / Maintenance Technicians to join our team.

This candidate should be well-rounded in industrial, mechanical, and electrical components. Someone who has repair experience and knowledge of a broad range of complex facility systems.

This position requires excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to perform complex technical tasks. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of proven experience.

Key Responsibilities :

Maintenance, modification, troubleshooting, and repair of a wide variety of challenging electronic and electro-mechanical systems in a distribution center environment.

Performing maintenance duties such as planned preventative maintenance of facility and facilities equipment, maintenance of office equipment and furnishings, basic electrical projects, spot painting or cleaning, light construction, or exterior clean-up.

Provide electrical support for all facility systems and equipment including but not limited to conveyors, A-Frames, Printers, Strappers, Compressors, and other automated technologies.

Demonstrate skills in all phases of facility maintenance including electrical troubleshooting.

Self-starter in new system and equipment learning and training.

Communicate with and maintain effective relationships with vendors.

General building and office maintenance.

Other tasks as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications :

Typically requires 1 years of related experience.

Additional Qualifications :

1 year of electrical, mechanical and / or automation troubleshooting experience

Excellent English verbal and written communication skills

Proficiency with MS Office and data entry with the ability to learn McKesson platforms and software.

Generalist mechanical / facility experience in various warehouse or other work environments (basic knowledge / exposure to some or all of the following : electrical, millwright, fire safety, plumbing, building codes, health and safety, etc.) is preferred.

Knowledge and safe usage of various types of equipment in maintenance / facility trade (hand tools, power tools, conveyors, forklifts, pressure gauges, voltmeters, etc.)

Experience with troubleshooting automated & electro-mechanical systems including PLCs, and control systems ranging from relay logic to microprocessor-based controls.

Excellent understanding or exposure of the electrical and mechanical systems including power feeders, transformers, generators, switchgear, AC / DC drives, PLCs, UPS systems, compressors, strappers, wrappers, air handling units, CRAC units, MDR / Spiral Conveyors systems, HVAC, freezer refrigeration experience is preferred.

Experience with CMMS programs such as Maintenance Connection would be ideal.

Knowledge of the NEC and light electrical construction experience

Working knowledge of Automated Storage Retrieval systems (ASR).

Proven ability to read and understand electrical schematics.

Full understanding and ability to train others on LOTO and OSHA regulations.

Ability to communicate under normal conditions as well as during times of high-pressure situations due to system failures.

Ability to learn quickly and address issues as they arise during normal working hours or when on call.

Dependable team player with a positive attitude. Willingness to complete a variety of small and large tasks or projects

Proven ability to communicate effectively with contractors who perform maintenance or upgrade work on facility systems.

Ability to communicate effectively between facilities team, vendors, operations, and IT.

Must be self-motivated and work without direct supervision with the desire to participate as a member of a multi-functional team

Strong organization and attention to detail

Ability to learn quickly, work with hands, problem solve, and provide solutions

Ability to follow verbal and written instructions, as well as interpret diagrams

Desire to learn and grow within position and be open to coaching and feedback

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift and carry up to 100 lbs.

Must be willing to work various hours in a 24 / 7 operational.

Includes standing, sitting, walking, general labor, ladder, scissor lift & fork truck use, climbing up to (4) story heights in a warehouse environment.

Must be able to carry and operate a laptop & handheld device.
