McKenney is Hiring a Project Manager- Automation and Controls Near Atlanta, GA

JOB SUMMARYThe primary focus will be to act in support of building automation and controls projects by providing coordination in the areas of manpower allocation and support, material logistics, installation supervision, estimating and pricing, preconstruction reviews, and project documentation.DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Estimating and budgeting
  • Written proposals
  • Customer development and retention
  • Planning and scheduling
  • Cost control
  • Ensuring quality and performance
  • Timely invoicing of all work completed to date and conscientious follow-up on collection of money due to ensure positive cash flow
  • Supervision of field teams
  • Safety engagement, training, promotion
  • Warranty administration
  • Design coordination
  • Contract negotiations
  • Material logistics and coordination
  • Schedule management
  • Change management
  • Servant Leadership
  • Quality Assurance and Reporting
  • Mentor Coops and field team members
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • 3 years experience with building automation and controls systems.
  • 3 years project management experience in a construction or facilities environment.
  • Must have PC experience in Windows environments including a working knowledge of spreadsheets, e-mail, and Web-enabled applications.
  • Calendar Management expertise
  • High school diploma or GED.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Building automation system estimating or sales experience.
  • Advanced competencies in computer networking.
  • Co-op or intern experience in this field.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • Strong leadership skills, self-motivated, team-orientated and able to respond quickly to changing customer demands.
  • Ability to effectively communicate across a diverse group of people (PMs, field staff, engineering, subcontractors etc.)
  • OSHA 30
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks at different stages of completion
  • Ability to respond to urgent requests and complete urgent tasks
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Must have a professional appearance and demeanor
  • Ability to use time productively, maximize efficiency, and meet challenging work goals
  • Ability to take on additional responsibilities as needed as well as determine and manage priorities with minimal guidance.
  • Must possess and maintain exceptional work ethic as well as uphold company values and demand the highest standard of conduct from self and others.
  • Must have PC experience in Windows environments, working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail, Web-enabled applications, and database software.
  • Excellent at Calendar Management
  • Must be a self-starter, with ability to work well as part of a team and independently
  • Basic understanding of computer IP networks
  • Familiarity with mechanical concepts such as flow, pressure, and heat transfer.
  • Must be persistent and able to attain results under adverse circumstances and conflict.
WORKING CONDITIIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORTS
  • Work involves moderate exposure to elements, such as hot/cold temperatures, dirt, dust, and/or loud noises.
  • Work environment involves some exposure to construction-related hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
  • Light physical effort. Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 25 pounds and some standing or walking.
  • Work requires local and occasional out-of-town travel to job sites and customer locations.
