POSITION SUMMARY: McKelvey Homes Architectural Drafter / Designer will work within the Architecture Department and in conjunction with the Purchasing, Estimating, and Construction Operations teams. This person will enhance the process of design, development and revisions to our product portfolio. This position will be involved in the design process of new plans as well as providing support for the current portfolio of floor plans. Value engineering of new and existing plans along with custom revisions will also be a key part of this position. This team member shall work with all other departments within the company as it relates to the functions listed below:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

· Knowledge of IRC Codes and the various adoptions and impact per municipality

· Development of conceptual designs through to accurate detailed blueprints

· Ability to develop and design within specific budget guidelines

· Assist in value engineering of current and new home plans

· Prepare structure specifications

· Customize existing plans for lot specific options

· Update existing plans for required master plan revisions

· Working knowledge of product specifications, scopes of work, and building code requirements

EXPERIENCE:

· Bachelor of Architecture preferred / minimum Associate degree in Architectural Drafting / Design

· Minimum of 3 years residential architecture experience required

· Experience servicing production / custom design builders preferred

· Proficient with AutoCAD
