MCHS Family of Services is Hiring a Program Supervisor Near Redford, MI
The Supervisor is responsible for the daily management of the Foster Grandparent Program. The Supervisor functions as a working project manager, actively involved with community organizations and volunteers.
DUTIES
- Provide education, assessment, and ongoing support to the foster grandparents and foster grandchildren.
- Serve as the point of contact for foster grandparents, coordinate and schedule visits between the foster grandparent and the foster grandchildren.
- Coach foster grandparents in verbal de-escalation and crisis intervention techniques and be available by phone to offer assistance when needed.
- Maintain a warm and professional relationship with the foster grandparents.
- Perform associated office work, such as compiling statistics, preparing reports, maintaining files as necessary.
- Bachelors Degree preferred; Associates degree will be considered.
- Two (2) years supervisory experience.
- Training and/or experience in work with those over 55 years of age and volunteers.
- Program planning and evaluation.
- Computer and software applications (Windows, MS Office, Internet applications, etc.) necessary to perform the duties of the position.
- Strong interest and experience in community relations required.
- Must have excellent written and oral communication skills necessary for written reports and giving oral presentations and trainings.
- High commitment to the field of aging.
