The primary responsibility of a Foster Care Behavioral Aide is to assist the foster care department in serving children, families, and foster families as well as provide support and respite services to children, families, and foster families in the Treatment Foster Care Program.

• Assists with monitoring birth and family visits at the agency or in the community.
• Assists with transporting consumers.
• Assist foster care staff with emergency situations that may require providing services during evening and weekend hours.
• Has the capacity to implement treatments plans, goals, and behavioral interventions that are established by the treatment team.
• Provides respite care to treatment foster youth
• Attends team meetings.
• Provides at least weekly contact with the foster parent to provide regular support and assistance.

Education and Experience:

• Possess a minimum of a high school diploma, although an associate or higher is preferred.
• Have the capacity to implement treatment plans, goals and behavioral interventions as established by the TFC treatment team.
• Have a valid State of Michigan driver’s license and have a reliable insured vehicle available to provide transportation as necessary.
• Have a flexible work schedule that allows for the provision of TFC behavioral support services during non-typical business hours.
• Complete 30 hours of treatment foster care pre-service training and 24 hours of annual training.
