MCHC Health Centers is Hiring a Customer Service Specialist Near Ukiah, CA

Description

Are you passionate about providing top-notch customer service?

We are looking for a Customer Service Agent to join our team and help us fulfill our mission of providing compassionate, high-quality care to our communities. In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting Patient Financial Services and Referrals, helping patients navigate insurance coverage, payment plans, and managing patient accounts. You will also serve as a bridge between patients, our staff, and external medical and insurance networks to optimize patient care options. As a bonus, you'll be trained to backup the Call Center and Patient Service Representatives.

Duties Include:

  • Collaborate between the Patient Financial Services and Referrals Departments. Position will take direction and training from Patient Financial Services Lead, as well as Referrals Supervisor.
  • Offer guidance and support to patients seeking insurance coverage, simplifying complex application processes, including Path to Health, California's Medicaid program, and Connect to Care.
  • Conduct financial screenings to determine eligibility for various insurance programs, and when appropriate, assist with enrollment in the Sliding Scale program.
  • Establish payment plans in accordance with organizational policies when necessary.
  • Monitor accounts with high balances and issue payment reminders as required.
  • Monitor the Good Faith Estimate work queues and conduct appropriate outreach.
  • Travel to other MCHC locations as required.

Requirements

Qualification Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • One to three years of customer relations experience is necessary.
  • Must be willing to travel to all sites.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Two or more years of relevant experience in the medical field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
