Description
McFarland Clinic is currently accepting application for Supply / Sterilization Clerk for its Ames office. Candidates should be service-oriented, a team player, and be able to provide extraordinary care, every day to our patients.
Responsibilities include : Processes pre-packaged and wrapped items for sterilizing. Maintains batch records according to standard procedures.
Retrieves instruments and other supplies needing sterilization from exam rooms, offices and stock room. Cleans and disinfects instruments following standardized procedures;
selects proper instruments and assembles tray according to clinic specifications. Distributes the linen to the departments and network offices.
Monitors linens and orders new linens when necessary. Records linen counts in Excel spreadsheet for monthly counts. Notifies the Purchasing Agent when stock items are running low.
Fills stock orders received from in-house departments and network offices. Confirms that network office items have been packed correctly for travel.
Updates inventory records on the computer system as items are distributed to physicians and staff. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity.
Requires the ability to discriminate colors and the ability to distinguish words, letters and numbers.
Education
High School Diploma, GED or HiSET.
Days : 3 days per week
Experience
- Previous experience with the instrument sterilizing process preferred.
- Prefer one year work experience, preferably in a medical office setting.
- Keyboard and computer experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Google docs.
