McElroy Metal is Hiring an Operations Coordinator Near Bossier, LA
An opening currently exists for the position of Operations Coordinator at our Bossier City manufacturing facility. The Operations Coordinator facilitates continuous improvement and improved customer service through proactive action and the determination of flex options gained from daily tactical and weekly market tactical meetings. This position reports to the Administrative Leader.
- Reviews a variety of production, shipping and other reports to develop a proactive approach to facilitate customer deliveries.
- Determines load scheduling by determining if customers are ready to take delivery on promised orders; utilizes the demand capacity tool to look for options of load leveling.
- Develops positive relationships with customers to improve communication and processes, and determines accurate jobsite directions at the time of coordinating deliveries.
- Maintains a positive and up-to-date flow of information to all order coordinators involved with an order, and coordinates a range of shipping details with regards to multiple plant orders.
- Communicates with the customer and customer service departments on a range of issues such as material shortage, trucking or shipping delays, direct ship options, coil reject issues and other order changes.
- Participates in a range of meetings and conference calls to facilitate communication and action between the customer and operations and customer service.
- Develops a full understanding of all order entry and shipping processes and identifies opportunities to improve these processes and reduce errors; cross trains in both operations and customer service.
- Flexes to other areas as workload allows.
- A high school diploma as well as 3 years of related work experience. Some college course-work a plus.
- A strong understanding of manufacturing and customer order systems, preferably in a Lean environment.
- The ability to establish priorities and manage multiple tasks.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to function well under stress.
- The ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- A team player and be able to work on an individual basis with little direct supervision.
- Able to effectively communicate and interact with other employees, team leaders, managers and customers, both verbally and in writing.
