MCD Global Health is a nonprofit global health organization recognized in the United States and around the world as a leader, innovator, and trusted partner.
We are looking to bring on board an Infectious Disease Care Program Assistant to be part of the Infectious Disease Care Program within the Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention (MeCDC). MeCDC is an office within the Maine Department of Health and Human Services. The primary function of the Care Program is to use federal funds provided by the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program to support lower-income Maine residents who are living with HIV/AIDS. Currently, the program serves about 1,200 clients. The Care Program also offers certain support services for Maine residents who test positive for Tuberculosis and select other infectious diseases.
This position will be a hybrid position with at least two days physically onsite in the Augusta Maine CDC office.
Job duties:
Client Support
· Process client requests for Ryan White financial assistance (to help clients with housing, food, and dental assistance)
· Communicate with clients, case managers, pharmacies, medical providers, and other professionals as authorized to determine client medical and financial eligibility for assistance
Data
· Use online databases to enter client information and assess client eligibility for financial support
· Run data reports to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and quality of the above tasks
Administrative
· Scan paper files for digitization of record keeping
· Participate in large program mailings when it is time to notify Ryan White clients of their benefits, recertify their membership, and fill out our annual satisfaction survey
· Perform various administrative support tasks as needed
General
· Work with Program Manager to lead the Care team’s outreach efforts.
· Facilitate and support the State’s HIV Integrated Planning Process
· Provide quality customer service to clients and key partners
· Participate in team activities like strategic planning, continuing education, etc.
· Other duties as assigned
· Provide program back-up support as needed
Required:
· Bachelor’s degree in health-related field is preferred; however, equivalent related work experience may be considered.
· Strong writing and interpersonal communication skills and cultural competence are essential.
· Computer skills, including knowledge of Excel and Word.
Please note, because this position is embedded at Maine CDC, this position is required to work in-person at a Maine CDC Office two days per week and will follow the State of Maine Tele-Work policy.
