QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Acceptable attendance required. (Written warning or probation will be an automatic disqualifier. Attendance may be reviewed after interviewing for position).
  • Meets standards in overall performance rating in most recent performance review.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Strong computer literacy skills required (MS Word, Excel, MS Teams, PowerPoint, SAP, Chase).
  • Superior planning, organization, and analytical skills required.
  • Professional, resourceful, proactive, and attention to detail, required. Must be capable of multitasking.
  • Technical understanding of the equipment and processes in the South Bend Facility.
  • Ability to provide feedback and hold accountability is a must.
  • Effective interpersonal skills required..
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in written form required.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations, required.
  • Must be flexible to rotate on all three shifts and overtime/weekends as necessary, required.
  • Provide direction to both internal team members and external contractors.

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:

With the support of the Maintenance Team Manager, the Maintenance Coordinator’s responsibilities include managing outside contractors and the strategic predictive/preventative maintenance programs, building a robust and highly functioning process using aggressive planning/scheduling techniques to achieve results that drive increases in Safety, Quality, PR and PR loss due to breakdown. A detailed list of the Maintenance Coordinator’s responsibilities is below:

  • Results ownership: supports plant and department OGSM’s and targets in support of Process Reliability
  • Supports production lines in achieving goals for PR, safety, quality, and service
  • Actively participates in CI initiative
  • Work Order Administration: Develop and implement work order processes. Report on and drive improvement of KPI's by reviewing completed work orders, identifying reoccurring issues, trends, training opportunities or required follow-ups. Audit and Maintain the CMMS. Develops predictive/preventative maintenance schedules by identifying and evaluating least-cost alternative schedules based on availability and location of parts, tools, supplies, crew skills, and machine downtime.
  • Improves maintenance operations by reviewing production records, analyzing prevention and repair costs and time; identify problems and trends while recommending new approaches.
  • Assists in meeting maintenance budgeting by entering and tracking materials and labor expenses.
  • Summarizes data and trends and create monthly reporting metrics.
  • May need assist in receiving duties for incoming parts: validate received parts to packing slips, filing of packing slips, entering data into CMMS/SAP systems.
  • Actively participates in all plant safety initiatives (JSA, Equipment Risk Assessment)
  • Incorporates and supports McCormick GMP’s and plant cleanliness among plant personnel.
  • Understands and promotes McCormick’s Plant Principles.
  • Assists with planning and coordinating maintenance projects, including attaining estimates and scheduling labor, materials, and contractors.
  • Coordinates buildings and grounds support by managing outside contractors (Sprinkler, lawn care, snow removal, etc.)
  • Coordinates and manages vendors on site to ensure work is being completed according to scope, specification, and timeliness while ensuring all McCormick safety rules are being followed.
  • Manages the purchase order process for all service work/repair for the Maintenance Department, from purchase requisition creation to invoice approvals in SAP.
  • Reviews timekeeping and validates before Team Manager approval.
  • Coordinates and manages work orders resulting from any external or internal plant audit and subsequent work orders found during preventative maintenance activities.
  • Maintains audit readiness with files in regards to calibrations, service records, fire systems, contractor safety forms, contractor confidentiality records, hot work permits, etc.
  • Develops and manages weekly technician work schedules across three shifts and potential weekend work, constantly communicating with maintenance team, operations, and planning to stay ahead of potential changes.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
