POSITION OVERVIEW
Under the general supervision of the Production Team Manager the Packaging Operator position is responsible for packaging finished goods and supporting the blending operation of the Production Department.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Operate all pieces of filling and packaging equipment
Keep daily production records
Inspect all products during operation and processing; pack off finished products
Prepare packaging materials
Process ingredients in blending equipment to make batch formulations
Perform duties to help maintain a clean, safe work environment
Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Must have a basic understanding of computer systems in the form of data entry.
Must be organized and possess strong problem solving skills.
Must be able to perform numerical calculations.
Proficient in reading and writing.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs repetitively.
Must possess excellent communication skills.
Able to work independently or in team environment
Must be able to inspect in-process and finished goods for proper weights, labeling and packaging
Must be able to operate a forktruck
Must be able to work overtime daily, on short notice, including weekends
