Overview
The Service Technician Apprentice is a front-line employee with direct customer contact and is a valued, essential part of the company’s success;
in addition to technical skills, people skills are vital for effective customer relationship management and decision-making.
Responsibilities
1. Assist Field Service Technician in troubleshooting and repairing customer cranes, crane
systems and other lifting components as directed
2. Assist Field Service Technician with Installing various types of cranes, hoists, components and
parts
3. Assist Field Service Technician with Modernizing or upgrading various types of cranes, hoists,
components and parts
4. Assist Field Service Technician with load testing and / or performing non-destructive testing
various types of cranes, hoists, components and parts
5. Assist Field Service Technician in Setting up, operating, and maintaining all service equipment
6. Responsible for working safely and in accordance with customer, company, and
OSHA requirements.
7. Display a professional image and conduct at all times, especially when oncustomer
property
8. Responsible for learning and understanding various crane type codes and inspection criteria
9. Assist Field Service Technician with inspecting hoists, cranes, crane systems, chain falls,
pullers, slings and below-the-hook devices

Qualifications
Education
A high school diploma, vocational-technical school or crane training program, trade school,
equivalent military experience or technical college training program preferred.
Experience & Skills
