SUMMARY OF CLASSIFICATION:
As a Saw Operator, the employee will be responsible for operating and maintaining saw equipment to cut various metal materials according to specifications. Attention to detail and the ability to work with precision will be crucial in ensuring the production of high-quality parts. Employee must have at least one year of machine set up and saw experience. Employee must demonstrate skills to operate home department equipment at the operator level, with minimal direction. Employee must demonstrate utilization of idle time to assist in other departments and for clean-up.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Set up and operate saw equipment, including programming and adjusting settings as necessary.
• Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and other specifications to determine cutting requirements independently.
• GDT knowledge (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance)
• Select appropriate saw blades or tools based on material type and thickness.
• Position materials on the saw table, ensuring proper alignment and securing them in place.
• Start the saw and monitor the cutting process to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
• Run a Gang Drill and do manual machining on mill and lathe.
• Inspect finished parts for quality, checking dimensions, angles, and other specifications.
• Adjust the saw or cutting parameters as needed to maintain quality standards.
• Collaborate with team members to optimize production processes and identify areas for improvement.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.
• Other duties may be assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
A high school diploma or the equivalent is preferred. Requires 1-3 years of experience. CNC Machinist – Vertical & Horizontal Emphasis on CNC multi-axis lathe skills using MasterCam & G code.
Skills:

• Motivated self-starter.
• Proficiency in operating saw equipment, including programming and adjusting settings.
• Familiarity with precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers
• Strong mathematical skills for performing basic calculations related to measurements and dimensions.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and other technical documents.
• Knowledge of quality inspection techniques to ensure accurate and precise cuts.
• Familiarity with working with sheet metal is desirable.
• Cold Saw
• Chop Saw
• Horizontal Band Saw experience.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to lift, carry, push, pull, grip, and grasp up to 50 lbs. Employees also frequently bend, twist, and reach and may stand and/or walk up to 8 hours per day.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.
