Responsibilities:
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures
- Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment
- Take and develop dental x-rays
- Perform dental charting and record patient information
- Provide chairside assistance to the dentist during procedures
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions
- Maintain infection control protocols and ensure a clean and safe environment
- Schedule patient appointments and manage patient records
Skills:
- Proficient in Dentrix and Epic dental software systems
- Experience working with pediatric patients is preferred
- Knowledge of medical coding for dental procedures
- Strong understanding of infection control protocols in a dental setting
- Familiarity with medical imaging techniques used in dentistry
- Excellent communication skills and ability to provide compassionate patient care
- Solid understanding of dental assisting techniques and procedures
- Ability to assess patient needs and provide appropriate assistance
- Knowledge of dental anatomy and terminology
