The IT Modern Workplace Analyst is part of the IT service delivery team, charged with meeting the collaboration needs of our lawyers and business services staff, and consulting to provide optimal benefit delivery, using tools primarily from Microsoft and iManage. Working closely with the Global Director and Global Assistant Director in particular, the Analyst assists the multi-faceted and connected teams with adoption and communication tracking, data administration, outreach coordination, and other evolving needs. The Analyst assists the Organizational Change Manager in adoption tracking, community development and benefit delivery. The Analyst will also assist in the delivery of projects and new services. This position participates in other avenues within the team, including change management support and analysis and, M365 administration.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

  • Supports members of the IT Modern Workplace team, from change management and M365 operations and adoption to document management services
  • Through a broad understanding of departmental operations, proactively identifies and addresses pain points and opportunities to add value
  • Subject Matter Expert (SME) in M365 collaboration services, understands the interconnected nature of tools such as MS Teams, SharePoint Online and Viva Engage, and can advise the business on ways to use them in an integrated manner to meet our business and client service delivery needs
  • Creates and maintains training and demonstration websites, including templates, and performs employee induction training for new Modern Workplace team members as well as training for new IT Managers and Directors in Modern Work processes and tools
  • Able to help lead the delivery of new services in the Modern Work portfolio
  • Supports the IT Modern Workplace team in ensuring policies are adhered to, and documentation is up to date, correctly filed, and made properly available
  • Provisions SharePoint sites, Teams Groups and Viva Engage Communities as needed, in support of the provisioning processes overseen by the M365 Administrator
  • Supports the M365 Administrator and M365 Engineer in monitoring Microsoft's roadmap for upgrades to M365 services, and in any communication they may require
  • Develops team data quality standards, maintaining all aspects of data management and reporting
  • Helps define and implement team processes and procedures
  • Provides end-to-end change management support for the Modern Work team including the development of communications, strategies, and training for new processes
  • Collaborates with other teams (e.g., operations, customer services, and engineering) to create a digital feedback loop to inform and improve our relationship with the business
  • Performs targeted system testing, provides support and training during pilots, testing and implementation
  • Plays a key part in shaping the team culture, processes, and identity within the broader organization
  • Promotes optimal useability of M365 services
  • Assists the Global Director and Global Assistant Directors of IT Modern Workplace team in implementing Modern Work protocols for the IT department and for the firm as a whole
  • Develops custom low-code solutions to support team and departmental dashboards and workflows
  • Provides thoughtful technical guidance to end users with a focus on quickly enabling successful use and engagement of applications within the IT Modern Workplace portfolio
  • Documents technical considerations and contributes to the internal knowledge base as a resource for other teams, end users, and partners
  • Acts as single-point-of-contact for the curation of Modern Work knowledge documents, templates and other material
  • Participates in addressing supports requests
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required to meet the Firm’s goals and objectives

Qualifications

Education/Training/Certifications:

  • Associates’ degree in computer science, legal studies, or equivalent experience - required
  • Certification(s) in Microsoft technologies (Power Platform App Maker Associate, Azure Enterprise Data Analyst Associate, Power Platform, Teams Application Developer Associate, Customer Data Platform Specialty, Power BI Data Analyst Associate, etc.) – preferred
  • Experience in Agile methodologies (including scrum and kanban) – required
  • Other business and technology related certifications - preferred

Professional Experience: 

  • 3 years of experience in delivering enterprise software solutions using Microsoft centric tools, technologies, and platforms
  • 2 years of experience delivering technology in an Agile fashion by encompassing iterative and incremental delivery, Scrum/Kanban, direct user collaboration
  • Experience with customer service, trouble shooting, and analytical skills.
  • Law firm or partnership experience is a plus

Technical Skills:

  • Experience with Microsoft’s Power Platform, document management solutions such as iManage Microsoft Teams and SharePoint Online – preferred
  • Experience with Agile Project Delivery – preferred
  • Experience in Low-Code/No Code platforms (e.g. Power Pages, Fliplet, Neota, etc.) - preferred
  • Experience in other software likely to be in use within law firms, such as those relating to practice and case management, IT service delivery, and business continuity – preferred

  • Ability to work both independently and within a team
  • Willing to challenge the status quo

Physical Requirements:

  • May require occasional lifting of up to 20 lbs.
