About us:
Mayberry Manor in Oshkosh and Fond du Lac has two 8-bed CBRFs that have been operating in the Oshkosh and Fond du Lac communities since 2015, where many residents and staff have lived and worked throughout their lives-giving our residents a close-knit, family-like feel. The goal of the our staff is to maintain and improve the health and well-being of each resident through support, encouragement, and empowerment. Through the passionate pursuit of excellent care and superior service, we help make the treasured years of our residents fulfilling, purposeful, and enjoyable through community activities, socialization and a warm, inviting environment.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care and assistance to individuals with developmental disabilities in a home care setting
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Monitor and record vital signs as needed
- Prepare and serve meals according to dietary guidelines
- Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive behaviors
- Support individuals in developing independent living skills
- Provide companionship and engage in social activities with clients
Experience:
- Previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred
- Knowledge of direct support techniques and person-centered care approaches
- Familiarity with behavior management strategies and techniques
- Understanding of home care regulations and protocols
- Ability to administer first aid when necessary
Skills:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Compassionate and patient demeanor
- Ability to work effectively with individuals of diverse backgrounds and abilities
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
