Position Overview

Now Hiring! Maintenance Technician

Pay type: $20.00hr

Location: Saint Petersburg, FL

Schedule: 7am-3pm and/or 6am-2pm.

What You’ll Do:

  • Inspect properties daily and perform corrective action. Check violations, and vendor performance, and identify physical assets needing repair.
  • Proactively recommends repair needs of the Association’s physical assets.
  • Ensure routine tasks are being satisfactorily performed.
  • Follow up to ensure work is completed by the due date.
  • When a work order is closed out, it should include corrective action taken and the date completed.

Responsibilities involving Boards of Directors and Committees:

  • Respond within 24 hours to Community Manager requests.
  • Provide the Community Manager and President of the Board with timely status reports.
  • Provide Committee Chair(s) with timely status of reports/projects.
  • Respond to after-hours calls under the direction of the Community Manager.

Responsibilities involving Owners:

  • Report any Owner interaction with your Community Manager to be directed as to the next steps.

Responsibilities with Community Manager:

  • Timely response to Manager phone calls, e-mails, and communications.
  • Report all repairs needed immediately.
  • Open Communication with the Manager is vital.
  • Community Maintenance:

What You’ll Need:

  • Trash pick-up
  • Light check and change bulbs.
  • General cleaning of facilities and assets.
  • Signage—repair and maintenance including posts and signs of all kinds.
  • Light carpentry repair.
  • Janitorial duties.
  • All manners of manual labor.
  • Clean and treat pools.
  • Irrigation testing and repairs.
  • Knowledge of pool irrigation systems, general carpentry, and painting.
  • Skills in using stencils, fax machines, and package knives.
  • Ability to function in extreme physical labor and work in extreme weather conditions.
  • Good communication skills
  • Proactive – able to assess situations quickly and take appropriate action.
  • High sense of urgency.
  • Sensitive to clients. Diplomatic.
  • Display good common sense.
  • Confident – not afraid to make a mistake.
  • Be objective – don’t take criticism personally.
  • Able to work quickly and efficiently; manage a heavy workload.
  • Able to work independently with little supervision.
  • Ability to handle difficult situations tactfully.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Own transportation and insurance.
  • Tools to perform job functions.

Physical requirement:

  • Workers will be required to climb, stoop, push, lift, kneel, pull, etc. during an average workday. In addition, most if not all the workdays will be spent outdoors. MAY Management Services promotes a drug/alcohol-free work environment using mandatory pre-employment, random, and/or reasonable suspicion of drug testing.

Scope:

  • The position encompasses using personal and MAY Management’s resources to achieve a very high level of client satisfaction. Failure to perform at levels acceptable to the Associations may result in loss of clients, and loss of revenue to MAY Management and will adversely affect the reputation of MAY Management.
