Dental Assistant – Experience Preferred

Reports to: Jennifer Bierlein DDS & Albert Trieu DDS

Hours (Subject to Change):

Tuesday & Thursday - 8am to 5pm

Wednesday 9 am to 6 pm

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Assisting the dentist and hygienists during procedures as necessary, setting up operatories for procedures and tear down after, basic lab work as needed for procedures, and seating patients and reviewing pre-treatment information.

SPECIFIC DUTIES

Dental Assisting

• Seat Patients and complete pre-procedure work
• Review health histories
• Maintain a professional reception area/office (organize patient education materials and magazines, straighten up the facility, report any larger maintenance issues to administrative assistant for follow-up)
• Taking records, impressions, and x-ray images.
• Update patient records using computers (Dentrix Ascend)
• Lab work as needed
• Assisting front office as needed
• Assisting the hygienist staff as needed

Office Participation

• Be an active participant in team meetings
• Perform other tasks as assigned by the dentist

PERSONNEL REQUIREMENTS

Education/Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Computer skills
• Certifications are not necessary but preference will be given to those with advanced training/Certifications for expanded functions.
• Preference will be given to those with radiology certification and previous dental work experience.

Interpersonal

• Good interpersonal skills to maintain effective rapport with patients, dentists, other staff members, and community
• Effective verbal skills to communicate with patients

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: From $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24 – 30 per week
