Responsibilities

MaxLinear is seeking a Senior Principal Communications Systems Engineer to join our growing team. In this role, you will focus on the following:

• Design, verify, and test modem and digital communication blocks and subsystems for various communications standards, including optical, wireless, cable, and satellite communications
• Design, verify and test various calibration and control algorithms enabling higher performance from the analog front end, working closely with the RFIC and RF systems teams to optimize the overall system
• Specify the HW/SW partition for various configuration, control, and calibration algorithms while collaborating with the firmware engineering team to ensure the correct implementation
• Provide cross-functional technical leadership and oversight on product architecture, system partitioning, block-level interface and performance specifications, verification and validation specifications and planning, IC bring up, validation, and productization

Qualifications

• Experience in developing, simulating, and testing receiver algorithms
• Proven ability to work closely within cross-functional engineering teams consisting of Communications Systems, RFIC, ASIC, and SW
• Strong analytical skills
• Ability to take initiative and adapt to a dynamic environment
• Expertise in complexity-aware, efficient, low-power system design techniques is a strong plus
• Matlab and C/C expertise, SystemC expertise a plus
• Leadership experience a plus
• BS in Electrical Engineering or related 11 years of experience, or MS 9 years of experience, or Ph.D. 6 years of experience

Compensation and Benefits

MaxLinear has a Total Compensation philosophy which includes base salary and annual discretionary bonus eligibility and many positions also include stock-based compensation.

MaxLinear expects to offer a starting base salary within the range of: $131,400 to $204,010 Annually

The actual starting base salary will be determined by the match to certain role-related criteria such as educational degree(s) or equivalent, relevant work experience, skillset needed for the role, and geographic location; this is not an all-inclusive list as some roles may require unique skills or experience.
