*Total Pay Package = $2,450/wk
HourlyRate: $70.00

AmergisStaffing is seeking a highly Special Education Teacher- Schools. The SpecialEducation Teacher is responsible for performing student evaluations as well asproviding and documenting therapy services in accordance with the plan of caredeveloped for each individual student and physician's orders when applicable.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The Special Education Teacher plays acrucial role in providing specialized instruction and support to students withdiverse learning needs. They collaborate with educators, parents, and otherprofessionals to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)tailored to each student's unique abilities and challenges. The SpecialEducation Teacher creates a nurturing and inclusive learning environment thatfosters academic, social, and emotional growth for students with disabilities.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement IndividualizedEducation Programs (IEPs) for students with disabilities, in collaboration withparents, administrators, and other members of the educational team.
Adapt and modify instructionalmaterials, curriculum, and teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs ofstudents with various disabilities.
Provide direct instruction in academicsubjects, life skills, and social-emotional development, based on students' IEPgoals and objectives.
Utilize evidence-based teaching methodsand assistive technologies to enhance learning and engagement for students withspecial needs.
Monitor and assess students' progressregularly, and adjust instructional strategies and interventions as needed tosupport their learning and development.
Collaborate with general educationteachers and support staff to promote inclusive practices and provide necessaryaccommodations and modifications for students with disabilities in mainstreamclassrooms.
Maintain accurate and detailed recordsof students' progress, attendance, and behavior, and prepare reports for IEPmeetings, parent conferences, and administrative purposes.
Communicate effectively with parents andguardians, providing updates on students' academic and social-emotionaldevelopment and soliciting their input and involvement in their child'seducation.
Participate in professional developmentactivities, workshops, and training sessions to enhance knowledge and skills inspecial education best practices, instructional techniques, and legalrequirements.
Stay informed about federal and statelaws, regulations, and policies related to special education, includingIndividuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) requirements and guidelines.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in SpecialEducation or a related field (e.g., Education, Psychology).
Valid teaching license or certificationin Special Education (required).
Prior experience working with studentswith disabilities in an educational setting (preferred).
Knowledge of special education laws,regulations, and best practices.
Strong communication, collaboration, andorganizational skills.
Ability to differentiate instruction andprovide individualized support to meet students' diverse learning needs.
Patience, empathy, and a passion forsupporting the academic and social-emotional growth of students withdisabilities.
Working Conditions:

Work hours typically follow the schoolschedule, with occasional evening meetings or events.
May require physical stamina and theability to assist students with mobility or personal care needs.
Work environment may include traditionalclassrooms, resource rooms, or specialized instructional settings.
