Preventative Maintenance Technician

We are searching for an experienced Preventative Maintenance Technician at our Eureka facility. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: 

Primary Responsibility:
Performs scheduled preventivemaintenance on all mechanical systems and components.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Performs preventive maintenance of heat exchangers, pumps, motors, lifts, and hoists.
Changes hydraulic and lubricating oils and filters as required.
Spreads salt and shovels snow as needed.
Replaces belts, hoses, fans, and filters before mechanical breakdown occurs.
Surveys safety devices and equipment on a regular basis.
Follows hazardous waste and environmental rules of disposal.
Follows written and verbal instructions. Uses lap top as part of written instructions and tasks.
Manage waste responsibly (utilize proper containers, participate in the recycling programs)
Promote energy conservation
Other duties as assigned to meet departmental and Company objectives.Required Qualifications:

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Safe work practices in an industrial environment.
Knowledgeable and ability to use hoists, cranes, hand tools, man lifts, and tow motors.
Knowledge of oil types and viscosities.
Works with minimal supervision.
Performs work with attention to detail.
Education/Experience
High School diploma or equivalent.
2 – 3 years in a maintenance or related work environment.
Trade /Technical school or apprenticeship program preferred.
Physical requirements:
Ability to walk and stand for long periods.
Ability to use a ladder and climb stairs.
Ability to exert average physical effort, occasionally lifting materials and parts up to 50 pounds.Hourly
