Maverix Broadband is hiring an additional crew for trenching fiber optic cable to homes to join our rapidly-expanding team working in Elbert and Douglas counties. We provide great benefits, competitive pay, a great working environment and flexible work hours with optional overtime opportunities.

On the job training will be available, but ideal candidates will have experience operating light machinery for trenching, yard maintenance, or landscape, or in general construction. Any experience with burying drop cable is a plus. Crews typically operate in groups of 3 to install conduit or direct-bury fiber optical cable on customer premises.

Duties include:

• Operating or assisting with a vibratory plow to bury fiber from the road along a pre-marked path to customer homes
• Evaluating environmental conditions
• Verifying existing and creating new as-built diagrams of infrastructure
• Assisting in planning and verification of properties and infrastructure in expansion areas
• Walking customers through our services and answering questions
• Pulling and blowing fiber optic cable - work with a team to ensure safe, speedy installation of cable in existing conduits

We currently work with outside engineering and surveying firms. We need an individual who can be organized and communicate with these outside teams to coordinate projects. An ideal candidate would have experience with aligning, inserting, and reading GPS data into a CAD software, but is not required.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years surveyor experience
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Good driving record
• Party chief experience preferred
