Maverick Washington LLC is Hiring a Labor Relations Specialist Near Kirkland, WA

Description

As an integral member of the Human Resources team, the Labor Relations Specialist will assist with labor relations and human resources matters, gathering, collecting, and maintaining documents and records required for union information requests, investigations, and negotiations.

· Handles routine labor relations and human resource inquiries related to policies, procedures, and bargaining agreements; refers complex matters to the HR Manager.

· Serves as the initial contact and liaison for intake and assessment of employee/ union grievances.

· Conducts initial fact finding and interviews, gathers information for employee relations matters such as harassment allegations, work complaints, or other concerns; informs HR Manager when additional investigation is required.

· Assists with recordkeeping related to hiring, termination, transfer, and promotion particularly as related to union members.

· Collects information and data to assess policy implications of negotiations and disputes. This may include management and union proposals, pay scales and wages, benefits, working conditions, and other mitigating circumstances.

· Conducts surveys, interviews, and other research related to the Collective Bargaining Agreement, compensation, and other labor negotiations; collects information and reports results to the HR Manager.

· Maintains knowledge and understanding of laws and regulations related to EEO, collective bargaining, unions, labor relations, and human resources.

· Assists with preparation of plans, policies, documents, and labor agreements.

· Assists with preparation of documents and records required for contract negotiations, meetings, and negotiations with employee and labor organizations.

· Performs special projects and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

SPECIFIC SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES REQUIRED:

· Thorough understanding of laws, regulations and guidelines related to HR and Labor Relations

· Strong project management and organizational skills.

· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

· Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Time management skills and a proven ability to meet deadlines.

· Ability to prioritize tasks and function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.

· Ability to handle confidential employee information with discretion and good judgment.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:

· At least three years of professional human resource administration required with experience in labor relations preferred.

· SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred.

· Prior experience with Paylocity, or other comparable HRIS systems, considered a plus.

· Casino or Hospitality experience a plus.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to work in a fast-paced, office environment. Must be able to sit for long periods of time, speak and hear, write, finger, feel, lift and carry up to twenty pounds (20 lbs) and occasionally more. Requires all forms of manual dexterity and mobility throughout the shift. Employee occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and work occasional weekend and/or evenings. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
