Role: Head of Property Operations & Maintenance – York, Maine

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Property Operations and Maintenance to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the hotel's engineering and maintenance operations to ensure the efficient and smooth functioning of the facility.

What You’ll Do:

• Manage the hotel's engineering department, including supervising a team of maintenance technicians.
• Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs to ensure the ongoing upkeep and safety of all hotel facilities, including guest rooms, public areas, and mechanical systems.
• Conduct regular inspections of the property to identify maintenance needs and address any issues promptly.
• Coordinate and oversee repairs, maintenance, and minor renovations, working closely with contractors and vendors to ensure quality workmanship and adherence to budgetary constraints.
• Maintain inventory and order supplies, equipment, and parts necessary for maintenance and repair activities.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and safety standards, including fire safety, OSHA standards, ADA requirements, and environmental regulations.
• Train and mentor maintenance staff on best practices, safety protocols, and equipment operation.
• Develop and manage departmental budgets, tracking expenses and identifying opportunities for cost savings.
• Respond to guest inquiries and complaints related to maintenance issues promptly and courteously.
• Collaborate with other departments, such as housekeeping and front office, to ensure seamless communication and coordination of efforts.

Who You Are:

• Associate degree in engineering or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in building engineering and maintenance or a similar role, with demonstrated leadership and managerial skills.
• Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with staff, guests, and vendors.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
• Physical ability to perform tasks such as lifting heavy objects, climbing ladders, and standing for extended periods.
• Knowledge of local building codes and regulations applicable to hotel facilities.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
