Mauser Packaging Solutions is Hiring a Quality Technician 2nd Shift Near Chillicothe, MO

Job Summary

Quality technician must be enthusiastic and hardworking, hands on with a good eye for detail. Responsible for performing standardized quality control checks and perform destructive tests with DOT Standards on our company products to ensure they meet the required legal and company standards for safety and quality. Candidate may also be required to maintain calibrated test equipment, prepare test data, and identify areas for quality control improvement.

Responsibilities:

  • Follow policies and procedures established by the company (HR, Safety, Quality…).
  • Conduct UN performance testing, and report and maintain test results to satisfy contractual, statutory, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain QA test area, instruments and tools used for testing in an organized and clean manner.
  • Perform and prepare reports of inspections and internal audits to materials and production processes.
  • Participate on training and continued education related to Quality, Safety and Testing.
  • Work closely with production personnel and Management to assist on safety and quality procedures and tests.
  • May be required to assist on production activities.
  • Various other duties and special projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • 2 years of experience in QC or as Material Product Inspector
  • Flexibility to work any different shifts and work schedules
  • Be certified or become certified to operate a forklift
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish)
  • Ability to communicate respectfully with coworkers both verbally and written
  • Strong attention to detail regarding organization and recordkeeping
  • Self-Directed with minimal supervision and instruction
  • Computer skills are required (Windows and Microsoft Office with working knowledge of Excel Program)
  • Must adhere to company attendance policy
  • Knowledge and use of all required PPE for the task performed
  • Follow policies and procedures established by the company (HR, Safety, Quality.

  • Maintain QA test area, instruments and tools used for testing in an organized and clean manner.
  • Perform and prepare reports of inspections and internal audits to materials and production processes.
  • Participate on training and continued education related to Quality, Safety and Testing.
  • Work closely with production personnel and Management to assist on safety and quality procedures and tests.
  • May be required to assist on production activities.
  • Various other duties and special projects as assigned.
  • Makes recommendations to Manager and Production leaders regarding observations and findings
  • Records test information accurately, on the computer and in neatly written shift reports.
  • Works closely with front line, operators and production supervisors to advise when adjustments are needed.
  • Notifies supervisor when inspection data exceeds acceptable limits or when major incidents of poor quality are noted.
  • Follows procedures for containments and placing defective drums on HOLD
  • Aids in the planning, promotion and organizing of training activities related to product quality and reliability.
  • May be required to assist with testing on samples and special situations
  • Must perform all duties in the department in a safe manner and consistent with all company safety rules
  • Conduct UN performance testing, completing appropriate documentation and maintain records to satisfy contractual, statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform incoming, in-process and final inspection to verify process and product quality.
  • Develops and demonstrates a knowledge and understanding of established quality policy, procedures and instructions.
  • Various other duties and special projects as assigned.
  • Provide backup support for SHEQ manager

Physical Requirements

  • Good hand/eye coordination and motor skills
  • Ability to lift 55 pounds
  • While performing the duties of this job, the individual is exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
  • Vision of 20/20 corrected and normal hearing range.
  • Be able to stand / walk extended periods of time
  • Must be able to stand, sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel and/or crouch for extended periods of time.
