Maui Brewing Co. Restaurants is looking for an Accountant.

The Restaurant Accountant is a professional responsible for managing the financial records and transactions of MBC KP LLC dba Maui Brewing Co. – Ka’anapali. The primary role is to ensure accurate and organized accounting for the restaurant’s financial activities. Performs various tasks related to financial management, record keeping and reporting to support the operation in managing the business and making informed financial decisions.

Salary range: $60,000
Office Location: Maui Brewing Co. Waikiki - 2300 Kalakaua Avenue, Honolulu, HI 96815

SUMMARY OF JOB DESCRIPTION:

Daily

  • Reconcile POS sales and Deposits and record via Sales Journal

Weekly

  • Bill payment; manage approval and payment for outstanding invoices
  • Produce business intelligence reports to provide insight

Monthly

  • Pay general excise taxes
  • Reconcile bank accounts
  • Reconcile all balance sheet accounts
  • Calculate percentage rent and report to landlord within prescribed timeline
  • Produce timely and accurate monthly financial statements (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Statement of Cash Flows)

General Responsibilities

  • Maintain financial reports, records, and general ledger accounts
  • Respond to information requests, review financial statements, and assist with audits

Required Skills and Experience

  • Proactive problem-solving and time management skills are a must
  • Self-directed / Work independently with minimal supervision / Strong sense of ownership and takes pride in their work
  • Smart and motivated team player / Someone who takes initiative
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Hands-on experience with Point-of-Sale systems, Accounting Software and Inventory Management systems
  • Experience in managing the books for a restaurant group or multiple individual restaurants, preferred
  • Understanding of the 4-4-5 calendar period (13 periods of exactly 4 weeks) versus a typical 12-month calendar, preferred
  • Manage vendor invoices and proper GL coding
