Mattax Neu Prater Eye Center is a premier medical provider of advanced laser vision correction, such as LASIK, cataract correction, and advanced technology replacement lenses in Springfield, Missouri. Our first responsibility is to our patients and the quality of care we provide to each and every one of them.

Mattax Neu Prater Eye Center has a full-time Ophthalmic Technician opening. Ideal candidate will be dependable, detail oriented, willing to take instruction, and able to work in high volume, fast paced environment with a diverse population. The Ophthalmic Technician performs an extensive number of data collection functions to allow for the proper professional diagnosis of patients’ conditions.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Empathetic personality with concern for the patients’ needs.
  • Strong organization with attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated computer literacy.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and apply training.
  • Provide chair-side assistance, performing diagnostic tests as required by doctor.
  • Administer treatment as allowed and ordered by physician.
  • Prepares patient for eye exam.
  • Ensure exam rooms are cleaned between each patient.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Previous healthcare experience required, eye experience strongly preferred, but willing to train.
  • Strong knowledge of medical office procedures.
  • Good in computers and relevant software applications and practice management technology.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and sound judgment.
  • Ability to be proactive and take initiative.
  • Deals with confidential information and/or issues using discretion and judgment.
  • Prior Ophthalmic Technician experience in a clinical or medical office preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
