Merchandising Specialist Job Description

SUMMARY: Maximize sales and customer traffic through exciting product presentation and displays. Create, implement and monitor all visual merchandising aspects of Matt’s Building Materials throughout the store to meet the highest standards, expectations, and branding objectives.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Merchandising
• Plan for, create, & implement fun, exciting visual displays on end caps & in front of counters
• Responsible for implementing and maintaining image standards and expectations Ensure that standards and expectations are achieved at all times.
• Work closely with and execute the design decisions of senior management with a sense of urgency
• Always finish a task to completion once it has been started. Never start a new project until old project is finished completely. (Set, Stocked, and Labeled)
• Stocking & Maintaining Aisles
• Ensure merchandise is stocked in the correct place, matching the label that is on the peg hook
• Oversee that CSA’s are stocking correctly when they are assisting
• Restock overstock product from stockroom or top shelves
• Maintain aisles cleanliness so that merchandise is accessible and customers are able to move throughout the aisles easily
• Straighten, clean and restock product to ensure merchandise is presented in a visually appealing manner
• Labeling
• Label any new merchandise that is set
• If labels are old or torn, replace with a new label
• If items are not in the system, get with a manager so the product can be received to make sure everything gets labeled in a timely manner
• Ideas
• Analyze product movement & make suggestions to increase sales.
• Research and source new, innovative concepts, ideas & solutions for visual merchandising.
• Partner with store associates to find necessary products to fit the customers needs
• Make a detailed presentation & implement if and when approved.
• Customer Service
• Answer questions regarding the store and products for the customers.
• Ask customers if they need assistance when working in aisles
• Cover Cods 10’s in departments.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $10.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
