Salary Range: $110,000 to $125,000 annually. Salary will be dependent uponexperience. 

Summary: 

Responsible for the management and execution of a variety of water resource related engineering design and permitting projects. Utilizing consulting expertise, prepares the scope, budget, and schedule for projects to ensure contract requirements are executed on-time and on-budget. Attend project meetings with internal staff and clients and make presentations concerning specific aspects of engineering projects and oversees the work of technical staff. Works with local, regional, or state-level clients to assist them in achieving their goals.

Essential Functions:

  • Serves as the technical specialist in the application of advanced concepts, principles, and methods in an assigned area.
  • Develop project work plans and scopes of work.
  • Provide project oversight and schedule monitoring.
  • Prepare and review fee proposals.
  • Produce project deliverables including technical memoranda, design plans and specifications, and technical reports.
  • Execute and lead the implementation of Quality Assurance/Quality Control Plans.
  • Build upon our existing water resources client base through routine contact and networking.
  • Participate in various business development events and present at conferences as an industry leader and subject matter expert.
  • Partner with other Matrix practice leaders to assist on multi-disciplinary project pursuits.
  • Maintain effective communications with clients and project teams.
  • Technical Reporting and Presentations.
  • Ensure that the staff resources are deployed in a productive and profitable manner.
  • Conduct regular meetings to ensure that project needs are balanced with staff availability.
  • Keeps informed of new developments and requirements affecting the design approval process for the purpose of recommending changes in programs or applications.
  • Interprets, organizes, executes, and coordinates assignments.

  • The ability to analyze and interpret technical data.

  • Experienced in supervising staff, bid projects, and develop project execution plans and technical deliverables.
  • Outstanding client and personnel skills and the ability to persuasively communicate at all levels.
  • Technical expert with outstanding team building, writing, cost estimating, and program execution skills.
  • Must be able to work effectively as a team leader in a group environment and maintain positive relationships with team members and clients.
  • Organized and detail oriented with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication.
  • Subject matter expert in a subset of Water Resources (i.e. water/wastewater treatment, natural channel design, urban drainage planning and design, watershed planning, water rights, etc.)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, hydraulics/hydrology software, and other technically specific software packages.
  • Ability, and willingness to travel to project sites and other facility offices.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Supervise, manage, direct, and provide oversight of tasks and responsibilities for engineering staff designers, and/or other technical support. 
  • Mentor and train engineering staff as needed.
  • Reviews and approves scopes, budget, and schedules for assignments.

Education and Experience:

  • Undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited program in civil or environmental engineering with an emphasis in Water Resources, Hydrology, Hydraulic engineering, Geomorphology or relevant field.
  • Graduate degree in a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of progressive comprehensive water resources experience.
  • Colorado Professional Engineering (PE) licensure or ability to obtain CO PE within one year.
  • Strong industry relationships and an understanding of municipal, state, and federal criteria.
  • Significant experience and understanding of local, regional, state, and federal policies, programs, and procedures.
  • Valid driver's license, in conjunction with successfully passing the Company’s MVR.
