MathWorks is seeking an experienced engineer with a passion for modeling and simulation to join our Consulting Services team. In this role you will help our customers become self-sufficient in the use of Simulink, Simscape and associated tools to model physical systems and design controls, capturing mechanics and dynamics in support of their physical product and control design workflows. This role will primarily support customers in the aerospace and defense industry. Projects comprise advisory services, coaching, process assessments, customized physical domain design, and custom solutions development.

Responsibilities

• Lead consulting engagements and deliver technical services to customers (~50% of time)
• Deliver consulting services to key customers to enable modeling and simulation of physical systems, including fluids and hydraulic systems, multibody, electrical systems, and power electronics.
• Understand the customer’s development processes and engineering challenges
• Collaborate with account teams to articulate the value of modeling and simulation, build tool adoption and implementation plans
• Conceive, prototype, and evaluate potential solution strategies
• Work both independently and in teams to ensure customer enablement and success

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree and 10 years of professional work experience (or equivalent experience) is required.

Additional Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. citizen due to the nature of customer applications
• Experience in system-level modeling and simulation
• Experience with MATLAB and Simulink
• Experience with Simscape for modeling physical systems
• Flexibility to work on multiple projects with ability to prioritize and multi-task based upon changing business and external demands
• Experience with HDL a plus
• Candidates must be willing to travel based on business needs (~25%)
• Candidates must be able to work on US defense projects
