At Mathnasium - The Math Learning Center, our educational philosophy revolves around teaching math in a way that makes sense to kids, 1st grade through high school, and helping them gain confidence in their math knowledge with the goal of helping them improve in their math education. About the Opportunity:

As our Assistant Center Director, you will be a bright and ambitious leader who will positively impact the community by creating a welcoming environment for our students, families and staff. This part-time position will potentially promote to be a full-time job for the great passionate and performance.

We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about providing an enjoyable environment, respectful to the needs of our families, and able to create, foster and maintain connections with all.

The Assistant Center Director will understand our company values and apply them in the daily operations of our centers, including responsibility over hiring/training staff, staffing instructors and student sessions, overseeing training, customer service, optimizing the enrollment process, and involvement in sales and marketing experience.

Specifically, we are looking for a candidate who will:

  • Hire and lead passionate instructors to work with our students, train them in our education methodology, and ensure that they provide an exceptional experience;
  • Manage our staffing, balancing the needs of our wide range of students and supporting our online appointment scheduling model;
  • Lead designated center management activities and provide management support to the Center Director
  • Provide exceptional customer service and assist with sales responsibilities.
  • Cultivate teamwork and collaboration with team members to deliver the best possible experience to students.
  • Understand every aspect of how the business operates, master all of our processes, ensure that our processes are followed, and help us develop new processes when needed to further enhance the center.
  • Understand our cost drivers (primarily staffing, marketing, and supplies) and ensure that we spend appropriately; and
  • Ensure that enrolled parents are excited by our program, are seeing results, are staying enrolled, and are spreading the word to grow our enrollment.
  • Assist with non-teaching/instructional tasks as needed.

* Requirements:

  • A passion for math and working with students.
  • Willingness to learn and be trained for center operation and sales activities.
  • Advanced communication skills including compassion, building connections, active listening, assessing customer needs, and providing solutions.
  • Strong organization skills able to manage multiple, concurrent priorities with accuracy and sense of urgency.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize, plan and work under their own initiative.
  • Strong leadership skills, empathy, tact and diplomacy; works cooperatively with students, parents and staff, demonstrating sensitivity and responsiveness to individual needs.
  • Personal Traits as friendly, outgoing, confident, flexible, sense of humor, professional attitude, trustworthy, passionate, excited, and energetic.
  • Flexibility with schedule during weekdays Monday to Thursday from 2 pm to 8 pm and on Saturday 9 am to 2 pm.
  • Education: High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:

  • Supervising experience: 3 years (Preferred)
  • math teaching: 1 year (Preferred)
  • overall teaching: 1 year (Preferred)

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $14.00 - $17.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • After school
  • Weekends as needed

Experience:

  • Math Tutoring: 1 year (Required)
