JOB SUMMARY
Director for Specialty Gas Operations
OVERVIEW- The operations for which the Director for Specialty Gas Operations has management responsibility for driving the specialty gas operations across the US. Driving the improvement in capabilities across the hub plants and the reliable production of those operations.
SAFETY- Responsible for providing a safe environment for all employees. Responsible for acceptance/review of customer orders for safety and quality. Administration of the company safety program and the maintaining of good employee relations.
DESCRIPTION- Directs and manages Specialty Gas Production and distribution to ensure compliance with customer expectations and established standards. Directs and controls the production and planning across hub plant for Specialty Gas operations. Effectively maintains production flow (raw materials, finished stock, etc.) to meet customer requirements. Directs inventory management at storage depot operations in several locations within the U.S. Participates in company sales and service activities as required. Directs and participates in development projects in order to improve operations, quality, and efficiency of operations. Assists in developing and submitting the Capital Budget annually. Makes recommendations as needed for production and operational improvements, including financial justification of investments. Manages COGS and utilizes appropriate metrics to ensure efficient operations. Responsible for proper staffing levels and employee training. Must have working knowledge of all local, state and federal legal and licensing requirements pertaining to the storage, handling, shipping and use of hazardous materials.
QUALITY- Responsible for maintaining and improving production efficiency and quality systems. Responsible for maintaining QMS and ISO requirements. Develop appropriate operating procedures and guidelines to ensure reliability and quality expectations are achieved. Investigate quality issues and determine root causes using corporate methodology. Maintains and monitors quality metrics to ensure continuous improvement throughout the organization. Meets with customers as needed to explain quality systems & processes, including customer audits of the plant operations and incident investigations.
