Brockman Syncline 1 is greenfields satellite mine development consisting of a 25 Mtpa primary crushing facility and overland conveyor, feeding into the Brockman 4 Mine. What you’ll do

We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to play a key role in providing engineering services to Worley and its customers, including technical support and supervision within the mechanical engineering team. The team provides a pro-active and flexible work environment allowing you to take ownership of your work and provide exceptional outcomes for our customers.

The role responsibilities include:

  • Deliver mechanical engineering services that meet Worley', its customers' and applicable statutory and regulatory specifications, on time and within budget.
  • Perform mechanical engineering services such as:
    • producing detailed conveyor calculations, equipment datasheets and scopes of works;
    • working with a team of mechanical designers to lay out bulk materials handling facilities, producing 3D models and 2D drawings;
    • ensure the project scope is clear and that changes comply with project change management processes;
    • participate in relevant meetings, prepare progress reports and follow required checking procedures.

  • Proactively resolve any discrepancies between Worley and its Customer's requirements.
  • Keep up-to-date with the latest developments and technical innovations in mechanical engineering.
  • Assist and support junior personnel within the mechanical engineering team.
  • Communicate effectively with the mechanical engineering team and project stakeholders, including the Customer.
  • Identify issues and problems, develop appropriate solutions, and ask for assistance when required.

What you’ll have

  • An Australian recognised Bachelor qualification in mechanical engineering.
  • Eligible for membership with Engineers Australia.
  • A sound knowledge of the fundamental requirements of the mechanical engineering, and the basic requirements of other engineering fields.
  • A sound knowledge of applicable local and international standards and statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Competent use of conveyor design software (Sidewinder preferred).
  • Competent use of relevant software such as MS Office Suite.
  • Substantial technical and practical experience in mechanical engineering in or similar industry including experience in working in multi-disciplinary projects and teams.
