The Material Bank analytics team is looking for a Staff Ecommerce Data Scientist who understands the digital analytics space, A/B testing frameworks, Google Analytics and Tag Management, and can build and customize A/B tests, create and implement a pragmatic web analytics framework combining Google Analytics data, A/B testing data, User behavior data and create rapid actionable insights to facilitate our business to move forward faster. The ideal candidate can move fast in a startup environment, deliver results, work closely with business leaders, and shorten the lifecycle of experimental design, implementation, and insights. The ideal candidate is an independent self-starter.

What you’ll do:

  • Proficient in SQL/Hive/Python or R experienced in massive data manipulation, machine learning & modeling.
  • Solid technical & knowledge of A/B testing methodologies can consistently explore and find the best practice.
  • Insightful data sense and rigorous logical mindset, capable of providing systematic approaches to solve business problems.
  • Implement and manage tracking and analytics systems (e.g., Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics) across Material Bank web properties.
  • Monitor and analyze website traffic, user behavior, engagement, and conversion data.
  • Track and analyze website performance data for continuous optimization.
  • Develop regular reports on key metrics and insights for internal stakeholders.
  • Create dashboards and visualizations to help teams understand performance trends.
  • Provide actionable insights based on data to drive website optimization and improve user engagement.
  • Design and execute A/B tests to improve conversion rates and other key performance indicators.
  • Collaborate with web development and marketing teams to implement data-driven changes to the website.
  • Work closely with marketing, sales, and IT departments to align analytics with business goals.
  • Recommend tools, strategies, and best practices for web analytics and performance management.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in web analytics and online marketing.

What you’ll bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science or a related field.
  • Proven experience in web analytics, digital marketing, or a similar role.

Preferred Skills:

  • Certification in Google Analytics or similar analytics platforms.
  • Experience with SEO and SEM strategies.
  • Knowledge of SQL and experience with databases.
  • Experience with Google Tag Manager
  • Experience with A/B testing frameworks, approaches, and tools like Split.io.
