Position Description:

The Housekeeper is responsible for keeping the school buildings and grounds safe and clean. The Housekeeper performs a wide variety of custodial duties to create and maintain a clean, orderly and safe environment for Mater Amoris children, staff, and families. The Housekeeper supports and collaborates with other staff to enjoy the highest standard of cleanliness and ensure order is maintained. The Housekeeper must complete all trainings and maintain all certifications required by local or State regulations or school administration. The Housekeeper performs his/her services under the direction and supervision of the Operations Manager.

Duties:

• Create daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly cleaning schedules to ensure that all routine cleaning and maintenance are completed.

• Perform cleaning duties such as cleaning classrooms, floors, restrooms, and hallways • Operate cleaning equipment and use designated chemicals and other cleaning products safely and in accordance with instructions.

• Participate in maintaining an orderly environment indoors and outdoors. • Collect and dispose of garbage and recycling.

• Maintain the cleanliness of outdoor areas, including walkways and flowerbeds. Tasks may include sweeping leaves, pulling weeds, maintaining gardens and flowerbeds, power washing, shoveling snow, and treating surfaces to prevent or eliminate ice.

• Prepare facilities and grounds for activities and events.

• Support teachers and administrative staff, as instructed.

• Other duties as assigned.
