Mateenbar Composite Reinforcements is Hiring an Operations Leader Near Concord, NC

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The Operations Leader is accountable for providing support for our 24/7 manufacturing operation, shift leaders and associated processes. This person must have a strong sense of personal commitment towards the business and our customers; an ability to foster teamwork throughout the organization; communicate effectively with all levels ranging from the hourly workforce to plant leadership. The Operations Leader must build a culture of trust, respect and accountability across the workforce. In addition, the individual in this position helps to implement organizational strategies, set expectations for continuous production and process improvements, successfully collaborate with cross functional teams to set and meet plant KPI metrics by implementing standards and practices enrolling motivated employees to achieve the Plant’s business strategy and deliver results.

Reports to: Plant Leader

Span of Control: 4-6 direct reports

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Live the Mateenbar's Safety standard, adhere to the safety responsibilities

  • Ensure a safe work environment through strict adherence to our safety policies and procedures and build a culture where safety is the highest priority
  • Drive continuous improvement in the areas of safety, 5S, and housekeeping
  • Know and communicate safety message with focus on developing zero injury culture
  • Promote a positive safety leadership mentality with a “see something, say something” company culture

Manage Operations

  • Identify and drive continuous improvement efforts through standardized work to improve cost, grow year-over-year productivity and reduce quality related issues for our customers
  • Set clear and measurable performance expectations, in line with plant goals; communicating and ensuring results are achieved for self and direct reports
  • Proactively analyze and manage all relative operations performance metrics making improvements to efficiencies, quality and cost with a commitment to regular cadence on communicating KPI results with implementing and completing action plans to resolution
  • Assign and coordinate work in the manufacturing departments to include supervising front line leaders with focused accountability to expectations set
  • Operate with zero environmental non-conformities to applicable company, government and regulatory policies
  • Ensure the quality systems are utilized to provide a consistent product that meets manufacturing specifications, collaborate and communicate, cross functionally to ensure business partners stay up to date
  • Manage workforce with a focus on appropriate labor resources to control cost and promote cross training to cover unexpected gaps by developing highly effective training practices and routine skill set verification
  • Ensure effective deployment of employee relations practices (building strong partnership)

Talent Development/Employee Relations

  • Set clear and measurable performance expectations for self and direct reports aligning with the plant goals
  • Establish an engaged workforce characterized by mutual trust, open communications, teamwork, and recognition and regular follow up
  • Create and sustain a culture where talent is developed through effective performance management, talent evaluation and utilization of people
  • Ensure all direct reports are displaying appropriate company values and managing to them consistently
  • Maintain documentation, track, counsel, and execute coaching and corrective action when performance issues occur in a non-bias consistent process

Customer Focus

  • Partner with peers and other colleagues to clearly understand process and customers FFUs so the plant can meet/exceed customer expectations
  • Assist in driving to zero defects or failures to customer
  • Ensure workforce understands customer risk and impact to business reputation and revenue on substandard processes, products, work practices, and OTIF delivery.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related discipline required
  • Minimum of 3 years manufacturing experience leading people in a complex manufacturing environment

EXPERIENCE:

  • Advanced degree preferred
  • Six Sigma certification and Lean manufacturing experience preferred

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Business and financial acumen
  • Ability to compile and utilize data and/or Six Sigma methods for problem-solving and decision-making to eliminate manufacturing losses and unnecessary costs
  • Creating and implementing strategic and operations plans
  • Leading and motivating peers, direct reports and primary workforce
  • Effective with verbal and written communication
  • Strong planning, resourcing and effective delegation skills
  • Able to engage and care for others starting with safety
  • Capable of achieving results fast both individually and through teams

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
