ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITYWe have an opening for a part-time AP Biology Teacher to join the faculty in the 2024-2025 school year. This position is located at our high school on 1001 Commonwealth Ave. in Brighton.The compensation for full-time Match teaching positions ranges from $61,200-$97,920 and is based on a candidates prior years of teaching experience.

OVERVIEW OF ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIESThis position includes a number of essential responsibilities, including (but not limited to): Teach up to two high school AP Biology classes;Plan daily lessons with support from science department leadership;Uphold high academic and behavioral expectations for students, and provide lots of support for getting students there;Participate actively in Matchs coaching and professional development programming;Assist with school programming as needed during non-instructional time; andServe as a positive and collaborative member of the Match Charter Public School communityQUALIFICATIONS Research has shown that people of color and women are less likely to apply for jobs if they dont believe they meet every one of the qualifications described in a job description. We are looking for AP Biology applicants who: have at least two years of full-time experience as classroom or special education teacher, preferably in an urban education setting;hold a valid and appropriate license issued by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, or obtain the licensure within a year of date of hire;believe that all students can and will succeed;Have a desire to continually improve their practice as a teacher by taking and implementing feedback; have a proven record of student success and achievement; anddemonstrate an ability to work well on a team, and a willingness to support others in doing their best work.
