Matanzas River Animal Hospital is Hiring an Associate Veterinarian Near Saint Augustine, FL

We are a full-service veterinary facility able to address the needs of Sick and Emergency cases as well as providing routine medical, surgical, and dental care. Our clients expect and appreciate our complete attention to their pets’ needs and our ability to fully work up and treat sick and injured patients. Our veterinarians have years of experience treating serious diseases, chronic conditions, and routine wellness care. The Staff is highly skilled at patient care, diagnostics, anesthesia, surgical assistance, and critical care. If you want a practice that provides an exciting caseload with opportunities to expand your veterinary skills and knowledge, then this is the opportunity for you.

We are equipped with a full in-house IDEXX lab, Procyte, Catalyst One, Sedivue, Digital Cytology, and multiple microscopes (one with photo capabilities). Imaging includes DR radiology, DR dental radiology and Ultrasound. Large Treatment area with two exam tables and two wet tables. There are oxygen and scavenging systems throughout. A separate ICU includes a fully optioned Snyder Unit and recovery cages. The ICU is easily visible from the treatment room through a full-length window wall. There is a large surgical suite with two equipped surgical stations directly adjacent to the scrub and pack prep room.

What you’ll be Working on

Building and maintaining client relationships

Diagnosing, treating, and managing a variety of small animal cases

Performing general wellness exams, senior care, and routine and advanced surgeries

Maintaining a high level of client communication and patient care

Guiding and utilizing exceptional support staff

Maintaining a positive work environment and promoting teamwork

What We Expect from You

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine or equivalent from an accredited program is required

Licensure in the state of Florida is required. Assistance in licensing process provided

Interest in complex medical and soft tissue surgery cases

Ability to interpret, and develop a plan from laboratory diagnostic information including but not limited to imaging, chemistry, and urinalysis

Conduct and interpret ultrasound exams

Highly motivated, with a passion for continuing education

Positive attitude with a desire to empower those around you

Commitment to ethics and integrity

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Guaranteed base compensation plus commission (paid monthly)

Annual Tuition reimbursement for student loans (tax free)

No on-call or after-hours will be required. Referral to local ER

Company paid DEA, FL License, and AVMA-PLIT. CE (30 hours per 2 years) financial reimbursement, 3 days PTO per year for CE. Generous vacation package.

401K plan with 3% (of salary) employer contributions (you must participate in the 401K to receive the employer contribution).

Company paid Health, Dental and Vision for employees after 90 days of employment.

Pay: $120,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
