Description

JOB DESCRIPTION

The BLM Permitting Specialist position will be responsible for overseeing the acquisition, maintenance, and compliance of all necessary permits for drilling oil and gas wells across federal minerals in Southeast New Mexico.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including geologists, engineers, legal counsel, land and environmental specialists to gather necessary information and address any permitting challenges
  • Interface with regulatory agencies, attend meetings, present project details, and advocate for timely processing of permit applications
  • Monitor changes in regulations and requirements and adjust Matador’s well permitting strategies accordingly to ensure ongoing compliance
  • Maintain up-to-date records of all well permit applications, approvals, and related correspondence
  • Provide regular updates to asset teams on the status of permitting activities, potential issues, and progress toward milestones
  • Coordinate with surveyors and contractors during the planning project process
  • Prepare, submit and track APDs, sundries and right-of-way related to federal projects
  • Assist in preparing contracts, agreements, correspondence and various documents for state and federal regulatory agencies
  • Respond to Federal related inquiries regarding Matador’s operations

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Three (3) years recent and related industry experience including experience with oil and gas contracts
  • Advanced computer skills, including high proficiency in MS Excel, Word, Outlook and Power Point
  • Detail oriented, organized and capable of multi-tasking with strong communication
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills
  • Four (4) year college degree is preferred
