What to expect:

As a Quality Inspector at Master Machine you can expect to be responsible for performing the in-process and final inspection of complex machined parts.

Required Qualifications:

· Applied GD&T and mechanical print reading skills.

· Familiarity with designing, performing, and interpreting the results of GR&R (Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility) studies.

· Experience in an AS-9100 and ISO9001-2015 certified manufacturing facility.

· Familiarity operating and or programming a CMM.

· Able to use vast array of hand measuring tools.

· Demonstrated ability to use basic shop math, including percentages, proportions, calculated tolerance range, calculated dimensions, basic conversions, and measures of angularity (degrees, minutes, seconds, radians, grads, etc).

· Ability to read and interpret procedures, work instructions, safety instructions, operating manuals, maintenance instructions, and other documents required to perform daily tasks.

· Ability to perform other duties as assigned

Ideal Candidates will have experience:

  • Performs incoming/set-up/in-process/final inspection of machined parts per inspection plan requirements.
  • Provide support to Change Management and MRB programs as needed.
  • Performs FAI (First Article Inspection) on initial production of new parts per the applicable customer
  • Measure dimensions of products to verify conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments, such as rulers, calipers, gauges, or micrometers.
  • Notify supervisors or other personnel of production problems.
  • Inspect, test, or measure materials, products, installations, or work for conformance to specifications.
  • Write test or inspection reports describing results, recommendations, or needed repairs.
  • Recommend necessary corrective actions, based on inspection results.
  • Read dials or meters to verify that equipment is functioning at specified levels.
  • Compare colors, shapes, textures, or grades of products or materials with color charts, templates, or samples to verify conformance to standards.
  • Clean, maintain, calibrate, or repair measuring instruments or test equipment, such as dial indicators, fixed gauges, or height gauges.
  • Ability to problem solve using analytical thinking
  • Demonstrates a strong mechanical aptitude and ability to communicate technical information.
  • Strong sense of organization, attention to detail, self-accountability
  • Ability to balance competing demands while accurately completing tasks in a timely manner.
  • Ability to make unbiased, data-driven decisions.
  • Assembles all necessary inspection documents to accompany shipments.
  • Identifies and segregates discrepant parts, and notifies the Quality Manager of discrepant parts.
  • Archives inspection records in the appropriate storage locations (both electronic and hard copy).
  • Identify improvements to processes to enhance quality, reduce cost, and increase productivity.
  • Set up, operate and program and complete CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) inspections.
  • Select and use the appropriate handheld gage to perform inspection of certain part features.
  • Maintain part and lot traceability information throughout the inspection process.

Additional Information:

Shift:Monday-Thursday 6:00AM-4:30PM, with OT as required on Friday’s.

Hours: 40

Compensation:DOE, Eligible for over time

Work Environment Details:

Lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted frequently; ability to work at a fast pace; keep workspace clean; visually inspect products; stand for 10 hours at a time with minimal breaks; English language proficiency; kneel, squat, and crawl on knees; work in positions with the ability to reach, squat, twist, and forward motion and rotation of the neck; use of hand tools; use of fine motor skills; work in a tight space; work in a group setting; work at multiple heights; work in an environment that is frequently changing temperatures; climb on ladder or step stool.
