Primary Function:Provide timely delivery of product to our customers. Represent Mastronardi Produce Ltd. in a positive
manner, by providing customers with quick, precise, helpful, courteous and professional delivery service.
Ensure truck is in proper working order.
Primary Responsibilities:• Complete pre-trip/post-trip inspections of truck and cargo.
• Responsible for performing daily vehicle inspection such tires, lights, brakes, oil, and water.
• Monitor condition of equipment and report all issues immediately.
• Deliver product and proper paperwork to our customers in a courteous and timely manner.
• Record cargo information distance traveled, fuel, consumption, and other information in a log book/ trip sheet.
• Receive and relay information to a central dispatcher.
• Ensure that material is properly protected from the outdoor elements.
• Ensure that the load is safely and correctly placed and is secured by using load bars, straps and slings to avoid damage to the truck or to the goods.
• Maintain tractors in clean and operable condition.
• Maintain excellent customer relations on all deliveries and pick-ups.
• Follow all customers designated safety procedures.
• Responsible for reporting any accidents, incidents, or equipment damage that occurs.
• Continually follow all MTO/U.S DOT requirements.
• Train others when required.
Education/Background Requirements:• Three years of current Tractor/Trailer (combination vehicle) experience required.
• Valid License class CDL required.
Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required• No failures of drug screens.
• No recent moving or driving violations.
• Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations.
• Able to pass physical, drug screening and road tests.
• Maintain a clean driving record.
• Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (Traffic, weather conditions etc.)
• Drivers who operate vehicles equipped with air brakes must have air brake endorsements.
• Passport, Fast Card or Enhanced CDL preferred.
• Willing to provide Abstract and CVOR.
Working Conditions:• Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly.
