The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a passionate, energetic, and driven Project Manager who relentlessly focuses on project success, consistently adds value to partner relationships, and knows how to work collaboratively with others. The Project Manager (PM) possesses strong organizational, communication, and problem solving skills. The PM must work collaboratively within a Creative Center of Excellence (COE) partnering with Integrated Marketing, the Creative Team members, and other internal marketing and business areas to ensure the best end results for partners and the success of the agency. The PM will possess the ability to think and act proactively, organize projects for mutual success, and keep to company objectives and vision.

The ideal candidate will be results oriented and agile with prior experience at an advertising, marketing, or communications agency. Successful candidates will thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy the challenge of working in a highly matrixed organization.

The Team

Our candidate will be joining a growing, diverse and talented team of Project Managers, Multimedia Designers, Videographers, Editors, Photographers, Art Directors and Copywriters. Our in-house team is an agile, inclusive, hard-working group, dedicated to bringing our MassMutual brand to life across many media solutions. We strive to work with our in-house partners to deliver proper and consistent messaging and content across our brand, while continuing to grow, learn, and stay on top of new industry technologies and trends.

This is a creative services project management position requiring solid background in project management of advertising marketing and communication campaigns and initiatives, as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills. A successful candidate must also be self-motivated and able to handle daily tasks on their own with little supervision.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Mass Communication/Advertising, or related field or High School Diploma (or GED) with 4 years of relevant work experience

  • 8 years experience as an Creative account or project manager in a fast-paced environment

  • 5 years experience developing proposals and estimates based on business and project requirements; ensure that project deliverables meet creative brief objectives

  • Travel to Boston 1x Monthly

Ideal Qualifications

  • Accountable for on time and on budget delivery of project deliverables. Organize, schedule, and manage projects through effective coordination of activities, resources, and utilization of project management principles.

  • Partner with internal business areas to determine scope of projects, budget requirements, production alternatives and time schedules. Ensure that all work contains the necessary information to produce a successful outcome.

  • Primary point of contact to creative resources. Responsible for the success and overall experience for partners and project efforts.

  • Provide direction and guidance to team resources to enable the realization of partner business objectives ensure that partner objectives are met.

  • Set and manage partner expectations; produce clear and concise communications, manage to overall project plan and deliverables

  • Understand and promote alignment with brand standards and established visual identity system.

  • Oversee, facilitate, and prioritize project workflow from scoping/briefing to final execution.

  • Communicate scope, timing, and/or budget changes to team members and key stakeholders, developing contingency plans as needed.

  • Manage partner expectations and feedback rounds; ensure partners are satisfied with output of work.

  • Proactively address partner concerns related to agency work product and service quality.

  • Assign projects and oversee the workload and forecasting through demand and capacity analysis and based on individual skills and bandwidth

  • Facilitate regular partner meetings to inform agency forecasting.

  • Apply communications best practices, trends, and knowledge of MassMutual key strengths and attributes to all marketing communications initiatives.

  • Develop and maintain strong partner and team relationships.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to seek creative ideas and provide input.

  • Understand industry trends and implement best practices to promote understanding of emerging concepts, technologies and their potential benefit.

  • Continually build understanding and knowledge of internal partners’ business and competitive environments.

  • Maintain industry experience and knowledge of internal business partners’ business to develop strategies that will influence business in a positive and measurable manner.

  • Self-motivated, quick, and assertive

  • Detailed oriented and organized

  • Exceptional time management and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to manage multiple, concurrent projects simultaneously

  • Ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team toward a common goal

  • Proficient in MS Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint—experience with Microsoft Project, Teams and/or related marketing workflow management software is a plus
