Job Summary:
The Mid-Career Project Engineer is responsible for assisting management in the supervision, daily planning, temporary structure design, and construction of unique and challenging bridge and/or heavy civil and marine projects throughout the United States. He or she provides oversight and guidance to other engineers, quality control staff, and surveyors on technical issues and project problem resolution. He or she also reinforces Massman’s Incident & Injury Free Initiative along with our corporate mission and vision statement in the daily performance of their work.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Has project-level responsibility for contract administration & compliance, as well as project engineering (lift plans and work plans)
• Scheduling and monthly progress narratives, and owner and subcontractor pay estimates
• Reviews daily progress reports, quality control inspections and reporting, verifies production quantities are timely and accurate and schedules permanent materials submittals and deliveries
• Generate applicable RFIs (Request for Information) on contractual or design related issues
• Assure accurate cost reports and margin analyses are produced on time
• Assure project documentation is produced or accumulated on time
• Represents the company in a professional and courteous manner
• Recognize and provide timely notification of potential contractual issues
• Be an Incident & Injury Free leader

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree
• Minimum of 4 years’ experience within the heavy civil and/or marine construction industry

Preferred Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
• 5-7 years’ experience within the heavy civil and/or marine construction industry
• Self-motivated and proven ability to lead collaborative efforts
• Excellent grammar, composition, and verbal and interpersonal communication skills
• Working knowledge of Primavera P6 & Auto-Cad
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Products
• Experience with alternative project deliver methods, including Public Private Partnerships, Design-Build, CMAR/CM/GC, etc.
• Experience working for state DOTs and USACE

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to navigate project sites, which may include walking over uneven terrain, climbing, and bending
• Ability to work in extreme hot and cold weather conditions

Travel Requirements:

• Limited travel may be required.

This position will be based in the Marble Falls, TX area, but relocation may be required in response to other opportunities.
