Job Summary

The Craftsperson will perform a wide variety of construction related duties under general supervision from Project Managers and the General Manager. The ideal candidate should be proficient in communication skills, be able to efficiently and systematically carry out construction related tasks and have a thorough understanding of blueprints intended for construction. They should also have good physical strength, a positive attitude and the ability to navigate an ever-changing environment.

Required

Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction and building trades

5-years proven experience in all construction trades with knowledge of basic construction principles and methods

Experience working with county officials, resort departments and building vendors

Ability to work under supervision of Project Manager and within a team setting

Excellent math skills, written and verbal communication, and jobsite relations skills

Experience with various power tools and equipment

Dependable, able to consistently show up to work and meeting deadlinesValid driver’s license and approved driving record

Preferred

Experience operating aerial lift and telehandler a plus

OSHA 10 or 30 Construction a plus, or can be obtained within 90 days of employment

Trade certifications or licenses

Days:

Monday – Friday, weekends and holidays as needed

Hours:

8am – 5pm, additional and weekend hours as needed

Core Responsibilities

• Supervise jobsite, including preparing, executing, and finalizing tasks while collaborating with subcontractors and Project Management
• Read blueprints, specifications, and county building codes to ensure compliance and accuracy of project
• Help unload and organize deliveries to ensure materials are properly quantified, undamaged, and stored in an appropriate area
• Perform quality assurance inspections on work in progress
• Utilize wood, metal, plastics, and other miscellaneous materials to perform construction tasks
• Operate equipment and power tools with precision, following OSHA and resort safety guidelines
• Meet with county officials for inspections as needed
• Oversee the punch list process to ensure completion
• Work with resort employees from departments within GERM (while maintaining a professional manner) to complete assigned tasks
• Maintain inventory and organization of company tools and material resources
• Perform semi-skilled sub-journey-level tasks related to construction work in basic trades such as carpentry, painting, electrical, plumbing and heating.Ensure quality workmanship, timely completion and compliance with county/state building codes
• Move, pick-up and/or deliver furniture, equipment and other items/materials as required
• Operate a variety of moving equipment, non-power tools, and hand-held power tools (e.g. table saws, drills, skill saws, compressors, trucks, forklifts, tractors, trenchers, chipping hammers, etc.) as required
• Identify and report items requiring maintenance, replacement and/or repair in a timely manner
• Follow proper protocols for purchasing materials and/or requesting advanced specialty services as needed
• Maintain and/or prepare various records, reports and correspondence as required
• Ensure high standards of quality, service and customer satisfaction are maintained
