Multicultural Media Manager

Attorney General Andrea Joy Campbell seeks a Multicultural Media Manager to develop, manage, and strengthen the Office's relationships with multicultural and bilingual media outlets across the Commonwealth.
Primary Duties: Responsibilities of the Multicultural Media Manager include, but are not limited to:
Identify and pitch proactive multicultural and bilingual press opportunities for the Attorney General and relevant staff;
Assist in the process of translating communications and digital materials;
Amplify the work of the Office and relevant announcements to multicultural and bilingual outlets;
Develop and maintain multicultural and bilingual outlet media list;
Research and identify story ideas to develop with reporters;
Work with Press Secretary to coordinate media availabilities and interviews for multicultural outlets.
Position Type: Full-Time/Exempt
Salary: $70,000

Job Qualifications:

The Multicultural Media Manager is expected to work some nights and weekends, and ideally, should possess a valid driver's license. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a connection to the people and communities we serve and an interest in supporting a respectful, diverse, equitable, and inclusive work environment. Other qualifications include:
Bachelor's degree or related experience - two to three years of experience in journalism or public relations;
Understanding of multicultural media landscape and outlets - existing relationships with these outlets is preferred, but not required;
Strong writing, oral communication, and research skills;
Proficiency in a language other than English is preferred;
Ability to pitch stories and communicate Office matters to a public audience, professionally and effectively;
Experience in news management techniques and strategies;
Ability to multitask, work on a deadline, and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
