This position works with various aspects of Graduate and Off-Campus Housing, including sharing responsibility with the Assistant Director of Residential Services, Conference Services and Off-Campus Housing for promoting formal, collaborative relationships with academic departments, campus organizations, and community housing providers.
Duties and responsibilities:
Off-Campus Housing (OCH) (60% effort):
· Manage the Off-Campus housing directory by reviewing and updating information to ensure accuracy of listings.
· Maintain monthly and annual rental rates spreadsheets and compile data and statistics
· Create and present educational workshops and webinars to inform the MIT community of current market trends.
· Respond to off-campus inquiries and provide resources, including reviewing leasing documents for MIT community members
· Create, update and maintain an inventory of short-term housing resources.
· Create and maintain an updated list of Boston/Cambridge apartment communities and seasonal rental rates.
· Organize and manage the annual MIT Off-Campus Housing Fair (virtual and in person).
· Create, update and maintain OCH marketing strategies and initiatives focusing on websites, publications and social media.
· Create strategic relationships with community partners for the purposes of connecting the MIT community to local housing-related resources;
· Attend the Boston Town and Gown, community meetings and renters’ conferences;
· Meet with and present to MIT departments on off-campus housing;
· Other duties as assigned.
Conference Housing & Assignments Team Support (40% effort):
· Assist in managing graduate and undergraduate housing communications (emails, phone calls, etc.) during peak seasons (March-September) through online ticketing software
· Approve and manage graduate housing sub-licensing process during summer and winter IAP terms using housing management softwareMaintain and process proof of residence for all on-campus students.
· Assist with conference programming, implementation/distribution of policy/procedures information.
· Document processes, policies and procedures and keep media/correspondence updated.
· Assist with the billing/invoicing of conference and guest programs.
· Conduct research analysis and benchmarking on peer institutions’ conference programs.
· General support of conference services, graduate and undergraduate housing.
· Other duties as assigned.
